Silver has long been called “the poor man’s gold”. Its main practical advantage is accessibility: it costs much less per gram than gold, so you can start with a small amount of a tangible metal.
A lower price per gram can suit:
- Newcomers learning how physical precious metals work
- Budget-conscious buyers who want to buy small amounts
- Gradual buyers using a Recurring purchase (when available)
A low price per gram does not mean silver is cheap or that its price will rise. Silver can be more volatile than gold, and its value can fall sharply.
Physical Ownership — Starting Small
Many low-cost products give price exposure rather than ownership of metal. With EONA, you can buy silver from a small amount, and your holding is recorded against specific investment-grade bars.
That means:
- Your holding is recorded against specific bars
- It’s stored with Loomis in Dubai
- You can sell it back to EONA through your account
Your silver is allocated to specific bars — not part of a pooled account. EONA does not currently offer delivery or collection of physical metal.
What Drives Silver Prices
Silver’s price is influenced by both investment and industrial demand.
Industrial demand — including solar energy, electronics and electric vehicles — is significant, and supply depends partly on mining of other metals. These factors can push the price up or down.
Because industrial demand is linked to the economy, silver can fall sharply in downturns.
